Demelza House, Sittingbourne

The project comprised a large extension to the front of the hospice and various internal alterations to create improved spaces for daily activities. A new teaching and dance room were constructed, as well as a soft play area for the children.

The extension was a traditional steel frame with brickwork and blockwork walls, with a mechanical lift for disabled children. Alterations were also made to accommodate more play facilities and refurbishment of the existing wet area.

The build was challenging due to the proximity of the new building to the existing. Keeping the facility operating to its full extent was a priority, so keeping the disruption to a minimum proved challenging. However, we formed a temporary access route across the front gardens to reduce distress and causing further issues in the build.
