- Ensuring all works are undertaken in accordance with HSE guidance and best practice
- Minimising disruption to local communities through considerate construction practices
- Supporting local charities, initiatives, and community groups through volunteering and financial contributions
- Sponsoring local sports teams and community events that promote health, wellbeing, and social cohesion
Delivery and Measurement
To ensure effective delivery of social value outcomes, Abbott Construction will:
- Set clear, project-specific social value targets aligned with the Social Value Model
- Monitor performance using measurable indicators (e.g. local spend, employment numbers, training hours, carbon reduction)
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners to maximise impact
- Record and report outcomes to demonstrate the value delivered, including carbon reduction targets where applicable in line with our Carbon Reduction Plan.
Responsibility
Senior management holds overall responsibility for this policy, ensuring that social value is embedded within all business activities. All employees and subcontractors are expected to actively contribute to achieving these commitments.
Review
This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure alignment with legislation, industry best practice, and organisational objectives.
